Laurens:Jodie A. Martin McKee,88, of Route 5, Ranch Road,
husband of Nonie Marler McKee died late Tuesday in Laurens Nursing Center. A
native of Laurens County, son of the late Andrew and Mary Jane Puckett McKee, he
was a retired weaving supervisor at Laurens Mill, a mason and member of Rossie
Walker Lodge having served as first Secretary of that lodge. JE was a member of
Second Baptist Church in Laurens.
Surviving
are his wife of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Lillie) Workman of Laurens;
one step-son, Turbee Marler of Laurens; one sister; Mrs. Andrella Thomas of
Centerville, Mass.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 4 PM Thursday at Second Baptist Church
conducted by Rev. Joe Smith, Rev. Grange Cothran and Rev. J.B. Abercrombie.
Burial with Masonic Rites will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 3 PM Thursday.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Workman, Route 5,
Ranch Road.
Kennedy Mortuary is in charge.

Advertiser-April 28, 1932----Funeral Services for Mrs. Jodie McKee
Yesterday afternoon at four o'clock funeral services were conducted at
the Lucas Avenue Baptist Church for Mrs. Blythe McQuown McKee, 35, wife of Jodie
A. McKee of the Watts Mills Village. The services were held by the pastor, Rev.
Jodie A. Martin, and the Rev. J. T. Lawrence of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. McKee died Tuesday night at the Laurens hospital after a brief
illness. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children,
including an infant; a brother, J. E. McQuown of Newberry, and two sisters, Mrs.
A. C. Bennett and Mrs. J. E. Benjamin of Clinton.

Stevens Marler McKee, 92, widow of J. A. McKee, formerly of Rt. 5 Ranch Road,
Laurens, died Tuesday in Laurens Health Care Center.
Born
in Spartanburg County, Mrs. McKee was first married to the late Nonie Marler,
was a homemaker and a member of Laurens Second Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Trubee Marler of Laurens, one step-daughter, Mrs.
Henry [Lillie Mae] Workman of Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil [Grace] Bishop
and Miss Altonia Stevens; both of Spartanburg; also two grandchildren and four
step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday [today] at North View
Cemetery conducted by Dr. Joseph Smith.
The family will be at their respective homes.

Copeland St., Laurens, husband of Bonnie Lunsford McKee, died Tuesday morning in
St. Frances Hospital.
A native of Laurens County, he
was the son of Jodie McKee and the late Blythe McQuown McKee, a member of Second
Baptist Church and a retired textile employee of Laurens Mill.
Also surviving is a sister,
Lillie Mae Workman of Laurens.
Funeral services will be 3 PM
Wednesday at the Kennedy Mortuary Chapel with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Sergeant McKee Killed in Europe
J. A. McKee received a message
from the War department last Friday stating that his son; Tech. Sgt. Fred McKee
was dead. He had been reported missing since July 24, 1944, and the telegram
stated that he had been dead since the date he had been reported missing.
Technical Sergeant McKee had been
overseas several months, having served in the West African War section before
being transferred to the European theater of action, where he was serving at the
time of his death. He attended the Wattsville schools and
before being inducted into the service was employed at the Laurens Mills
as a loom fixer.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Miss Sara Taylor, and an eight--month-old daughter, who are making their
home with Mrs. McKee's parents in
Woodruff; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McKee; one sister, Miss Lillie McKee
of near Wattsville and on brother, Pfc. Edwin L. McKee, who has been serving in
the Asiatic Pacific for more than 22 months.

Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Laurens, she was a
daughter of the late Jodie A. and Blythe McQuowin McKee, was retired from
Torrington Corp., and was a member of Laurens First Baptist Church. She was a
member of the Shelly Sunday School Class, the Sara Lou Patterson Circle and the
Martha Franks Singers.
Surviving are one daughter and
son-in-law, Diane and John Thibodeau, of Laurens; three sons and
daughters-in-law, Martin and Becky Workman of Greenville, Gerald and Cheyenne
Workman of Gray Court, and David Workman of Black Mountain, N.C.; five
grandchildren, Pam Harrelson, Shane Workman, Wendy Bradley, Blythe Thibodeau and
Jody Thibodeau; and one great-grandson, Henry Harrelson.
Funeral services will be at 11
a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Dr. Bev
T. Kennedy Jr., with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

William Henry Workman, 68m of
612 Church St., Laurens, and husband of Lillie McKee Workman, died Monday at The
Heart of Florida Hospital, Haines City, Fla.
A native of Clinton, he was a son
of the late Landrum and Rebecca Prince Workman.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of
World War II and a retired machinist for NAPA Auto Parts Store and a member of
Laurens First Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Workman have been
winter visitors to the Davenport area of Florida for the past seven years.
Surviving are his wife, Lillie
McKee Workman of the home; a daughter, Diane Thibodeau of Laurens; three sons,
Martin Workman of Deland, Fla; Gerald Workman of Fountain Inn, and David Workman
of Black Mountain, NC; a sister, Marie Haynes of Gray County, and five
grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 3
