            History:

Founded in 1996, Norton University has become Phnom Penh's first and largest private university. It is now the center of higher education in Cambodia. The university has an established reputation for excellence in education geared to meet the needs of the 21st century. It combines traditional academic values with innovative teaching and the accessibility to advanced technology.The university emphasizes on the development of the analytical skills of the students.

To enhance further their learning experience, the university has forged close partnerships with major business and industrial community for the practical training of the graduating students.

Formal Education Curriculum
Norton University New Curriculum begins with Academic year 2000-2001 which has been upgraded to a World Class International Standard, which is based from other prestigious universities in many parts of the world.

Fundamental subjects for Bachelors Degree Which are compulsory to be taken during 1st year and 2nd Year, are standardized that meets the requirements of foreign Universities in Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States. First and second year students are expected to take compulsory standardized fundamental subjects which meet the requirements of the international educational guidelines.

Foundation subjects are enhanced by courses in Arts, Humanities, Political Science and Social Sciences in order for the students to gain knowledge and skills in critical thinking, problem identification and solving, analysis and decision making within the context of the ethical aspects of their chosen career or profession.

International Commitment
Norton University place great value on the internationalization of its curriculum at all academic levels and has set ambitious goals in its efforts to be widely recognized as a leading university with a broad international focus. The internationalization process will include the following various activities:
· To actively build its global institutional links and international students exchange program.
· To form partnerships with overseas institutions for fostering academic collaboration.
· To Internationalize our academic curriculum and to develop international standardized courses.

Institution of Higher Learning
The University offers undergraduate degrees courses in the following programs the Graduate School , Master Degrees, Executive Program, College of Engineering. Department. Continuing Education & Professional Development, International Students Exchange Program, Department of Languages and International Studies, The Banana Center for Short Term skill training, Certificates in English, Accounting, Computer and Associates Degree courses and the Academy for Movies & Television Arts. Norton University also offers relevant External Programs and other service departments for a total educational development of its students population. 

University Site and Physical Facilities
Norton University main campus is centrally located; it can be found at Phnom Penh City's business district area right behind the National Bank of Cambodia. The campus can be easily reached by public transport. The University's main campus occupies over 5000 sq.meters of territory. The University's historic building (Built in 1933) is the location of its administration and academic buildings. Many of the University's courses, undergraduate and graduate levels are offered at this campus.

The University's main campus is beautifully landscape and well-maintain. Students can relax between classes on the main campus ground where food and snacks are easily available at the food court café and near by restaurants.

The University atmosphere provides the students with excellent facilities such as library, speech laboratory and computer lab, health services, Cafeteria, Sports facilities, audio visual room, conference room, auditorium and University bookshop.

Norton University is the first Cambodian private and largest higher institution of learning It is one of the fastest growing universities in Asia in terms of student population. The University campus is pleasant, safe and the most modern university in Cambodia. Its buildings and facilities are among the best in Phnom Penh. The University is always in process of updating its teaching facilities and teaching methodology. The University is well-equipped with laboratories, lecture rooms, and a library stocked with a collection of reference books, periodicals, and videos. Our main library contains more than 7,000 volumes of books and reference materials and continues to grow every year.

To keep well ahead of the latest methods in teaching and research activities, the University upgraded its computer network system and facilities. It has installed over 540 advanced computer units at both campuses, Norton University and the Banana Center. Norton University is considered to be the largest computer training center in Cambodia.

Modern classrooms and computer laboratories keep students with the latest technology and provide an atmosphere that encourages academic success.

University Book Store
The university bookstore is well-stocked with the latest writing materials, books, stationeries, gift items , university apparel and other reading materials.

University Cafeteria
The University Cafeteria provides students and faculty with a convenient location on campus with affordable lunch meals, which offers nutritional value.

Regional Campus
Norton University's regional campus (The Banana Center) is located near Wat Phnom . The Center was established in 1993 and initially was located near the National Independence Monument. Later in 1998, the Center was relocated to its present location in order to accommodate the growing student population.

The Banana Center covers over 2,000 sq.meters of land. The Center is an extension of Norton University focusing on educational opportunities for all ages and economic background. A wide range of the University's academic programs are available at the Center and it is also the site of Norton University's foreign language department. A number of international languages are offered at the center and they include the following English, German, Chinese, Thai and Japanese.
