Hello one and all . A big thanks to the Paragliders of I think Dorset. Whom have sent me an enormous aerial photograph of Chichester. It covers an area from the west of Fishbourne Creek, to the east is Tangmere it is over 6mb so I cannot fit it on the site, shame that is so. I am not sure if I can share it with you, but you could always visit The Paragliders themselves, for more aerial pics of the South Coast.

Whilst surfing the web the other night, I came upon a site with aerial photographs of Chichester, so thought you might like to see Eye in the Sky. If like me you have ever wondered where they came from in their flying machines this might give you a clue. Thank you to Ann-Marie at St.Richards for being so helpful.

Hello one and all . There has been a lot of discussion about the effects of global warming and the causes of it.
So I thought that I would put in my tenpenny worth. The Council in Dover Kent have for some time now been using recycled vegetable oil from restaurants and chip shops etc, to drive their fleet of diesel vehicles. Research in to this type of fuel has found that emissions are biodegradable, the fuel is kinder to the engine, and more miles per litre so it is more economical. The price of vegetable oil in Ldll`s is 30p a litre, the price of diesel in Sainsbury`s is nearly three times that. If our government were serious about the environment surely it would promote the use of this alternative fuel, and hopefully not tax it to an unacceptable degree. Located in this article are three sites that contain information on this subject.

Veggie fuel site 2
This site is very good it takes time to download but it carries an explicit account of why we should think of biodiesel as a sustainable solution for our generation and for generations to come. Please click on the blue bit as usual

Hello Chichester and all the rest. Regular visitors will have noticed an addition today of a map service, it can be found in the column on the left under er would you believe Chichester Maps of Area. This is only temporary so I must apologise for the quality it is not very good but it will be sorted in time . In fact if it takes you as long to drive to Chichester as these maps do to download you might get bored and never come to Chichester and that would a shame.

October 27th
Poem for a windy day.

The coming tide churns thick with weed,
laver and kelps, torn by the storm
from lush beds somewhere in the bay.
The rubbery leaves of dulse and wrack
thicken the waters, browning green waves,
marbling each crest to liquid alabaster
as they swill toward the shore.

Heaped into littoral garden rows,
glistening in fresh morning light -
pinkish and yellowish browns, boiled greens,
shimmer of latex - the frilled and tasselled
thicket seethes and twinkles each time
a wave comes washing in, while gulls
pick through the jumble of their rags.

Slowly, as the tide retreats,
they start to kipper in the sun,
cleaned off by flies, and now release
their stored fecundity, that brackish
saline stench, the ocean's flatulence,
which will insinuate itself,
wafting to every corner of the town.

Tony Lucas

October 16th
Mick Hughes attacked in his home and rushed to hospital.
On the evening of the 16th of October Mick Hughes, whilst preparing his evening meal of frozen pork chops, the chops siezed hold of the knife which he was using to prise them apart, and stabbed him savagely in the left hand. Phone calls were hastily made and Mick rushed to hospital with severed tendons . This may not seem too harsh but Mick was recovering from an operation on his right elbow so one could say that Mick is armless for the first time in his life at this moment. The police later arrested two pork chops which they described as lean and mean, and were holding them in the cooler until they meet their doom in the electric pan tonite .

Do to the pressure of interest in this article I have been asked to include a recipe or two so here you are:-

Pork Chops with Glazed Apples.

Ingredients-

    4 Loin Pork Chops
    Fat for Frying
    2tbsps. Minced onion
    Quarter Pint of Tomato Juice
    Salt and Pepper
    2tsps. Grated Orange Peel
    8 tbsps. Orange Juice
    4oz of Granulated Sugar
    4 firm red apples
Choose lean and mean pork chops or trim off surplus fat.Heat a little fat in a thick pan or if you do not have a thick pan use an intelligent pan, add the meat and brown on both sides until it is a rich golden hue. Add the onion , tomato juice and seasoning , cover and simmer gently till the meat is tender- about 30 minutes.Meanwhile , heat the orange rind ,orange juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Wipe and quarter the apples, without peeling , remove the core and cook carefully in the orange syrupuntil soft but unbroken. Put the chops on a dish with the glazed apples and pour any remaining liquid over them. Please note that pork chops should be thoroughly thawed before cooking this prevents serious injury to limbs and appendiges be careful when using knives as these are liable to attack if presented with hard pork chops.
