What about Gerben Hoekstra ?

 

Hello,

The name is Hoekstra,.....Gerben Hoekstra, and on this page I will try to introduce myself to you,...

I was born in Hardenberg (a small town in the north-east of the Netherlands) at the 23th of september 1969.
My life there was real easy and without any problems or complications. Together with three sisters and one brother, I was raised by my father (who died in 1997) and mother...Beeing the yougest in the family, there was enough space for me to discover the do's and not-do's of life.  
After I finished my primary school I graduated as a painter. I had some jobs painting several houses and other objects. At the age of 18, i did my tour of duty in the Dutch army. I Served the 41th Pagnie in Seedorf (Germany) as an semi- platoon commandor. After that I went to school again (realising that painting someone else's house was not gonna be my ambition, during the rest of my life) in 1990. After I got into contact with a social worker at the youthcentre (were I was doing voluntairy-work at the time) I thought it would be a good idea to chance my education.
So,.. In 1991 I left Hardenberg and took of to Rotterdam. There I followed an education as a social worker that took me four years to graduate from. After I got my degree I worked a serveral places and for different public health centras as a teenage-worker, youth worker, educator and teamleader. In 2001 I got fed up with it all and I thougt it was time for a chance. I Quitted my job and found work as a painter again. Next to that I'm active as a Outdoor instructor and in May of this year (2002) I'll be working at a camping in the Belgian Ardennes. After that ??? .......I don't know what I will be doing, but my next objective is to collect as mutch of "good & happy moments" in life.
At this time I'm 32 years old and trying to bring back, the lack of real spice in my life...
