Fun with Textures 22 February 2005 Another one of those. But meanwhile I've discovered the joy of filters. This is another contribution to one of those exquisite corpses. I got the top 15 pixels from another artist. Texture, torn edges and light on an uneven surface: Just the kind of thing I couln't reproduce even if I tried. The name of this composition being "lonewolf" combined with the garage kit resin like color of the shape in those top 15 pixels conjured the image of a wild canine's skull in my mind. So while I wouldn't be able to keep up the texture, at least I could assure some continuity with the shape. Although my contribution to the whole exquisite corpse is a standard 200 pixels high, I decided to publish my entire work area here. I avoid bewel and emboss effects along the edges of my picture that way. Fun is fun, but I'm beginning to entertain thoughts of an little non-committal online comic of my own... |
