Collage Practice August 22 2005 What I like best about this contribution to an exquisite corpse is the feeling of depth. I may have been able to do a little better still, but given that it was 6:30 a.m., I decided to leave well enough alone and submit my bit. I had filled in for somebody who was going on summer vacation and by the time he was back I still hadn't worked up the inspiration to add to the clip I had recieved. To be honest I was a little discouraged by the textures, color nuances and a most annoying 1px wide line of light gray that would immediately signal the breakline. In retrospect I think I could have turned that thin line into the top of a tower or so. But the person I had delayed thus was already slapping me with a large trout on the forum. - Hmmm, fish... Given the circumstances I opted for a collage with two images and the same effect as last time to make a smooth transition with an impossible texture. Applying the effect "rectangular to polar coordinates" to the background image yielded the illusion of depth I'm so happy with. |
