No story would be complete without a cast of some characters. Introducing our mini-analysis of the following important players of the plot... we may add more soon as we see fit, so stay tuned!
Mainstays
Cornelia Hale
The high-strung rich lady with an attitude. She acts with the pride and royalty of a princess, commanding respect and intimidation from many of her peers. She can hardly tolerate anyone getting ahead of her, and she will do her best to remedy that.
Watch out for these important plot devices involving her: Caleb, Peter, Lillian, and when she just blows up in someone's face, or acts plain sarcastic.
Pet Peeve: Her younger sister Lillian.
Element: Cornelia commands the earth. She can command plants to grow wildly and follow her bidding, as well as bore holes in walls (and also patch them up later).
Additional power: She can tidy her room with a thought. Which means she can manipulate objects telekinetically.
Best quote: "She thinks she's a big shot, but she's just a beginner!"
Hay Lin Analysis
However thinner than a broomstick (*cough*Will*cough*), Hay Lin is simply oozing with self-confidence, with a sense of humor rivaling that of Irma's. She's probably the most creative among the group, making you wonder if she should've been given the powers of Earth instead.
Watch out for these important plot devices involving her: The art, and the way other people can get her to agree, and uh, Eric.
Pet Peeve: Writing and drawing on her palms.
Element: Hay Lin commands the wind. She is the only member of the group that can fly.
Additional power: She can relive the memories of others by listening to sounds (or music) coming from objects they once touched.
Best quote: "Puuuunishment!"
Irma Lair
The feisty, mischievous plump lady. Her sense of humor can be very infectious, but sometimes it just grates on the nerves. She is the only member in the group who can consistently stand up to Cornelia's attitude. Finally, Irma might not hesitate to intentionally and/or carelessly use her powers for personal advantage.
Watch out for these important plot devices involving her: The bathtub, Martin, the jokes, the jokes!
Pet Peeve: Sometimes sounds corny.
Element: Irma controls water, mainpulating water for various uses, or stopping water in its tracks. However, she cannot create water out of nowhere.
Additional power: Um, I'll find out soon enough.
Best quote: "You'll need a barrel of hair conditioner!"
Taranee Cook Analysis
Another timid young lady, Taranee gets easily scared of things she doesn't understand or when she gets confused, but being in the group gives her a boost of confidence. She prefers to keep her emotions bottled up, but once she's pulled too far, she will snap like a rubber band and get really upset, or even worse, angry. (Percival: I'd say she often goes to Will for solace, and to Irma for comic relief.)
Watch out for these important plot devices involving her: Nigel... and simply watch her reaction! Quality times to watch for are when she get confused, scared, or angry.
Pet Peeve: Her antique-looking camera.
Element: Taranee commands the dangerous power of fire. This includes summoning flames, as well as controlling the movement of existing fire.
Additional power: Taranee can send messages telepathically to her friends within a limited range... or to Will from anywhere in any dimension. (Percival: She can also create a "telepathic chatroom" of sorts, almost like the chatrooms in Ragnarok Online.)
Best quote: "Stop it! Just stop it! This stuff is scaring me... what's going on!" / "I'm really scared... I want to understand this!"
Will Vandom
The star of the show, and the most developed character. Will is a reserved and timid young lady who is however very honest and open--she will not hesitate to voice out her grievances. She has so many reservations about herself and her life that stating many of them would already be a huge plot spoiler. Being the pivotal plot device, Will is often made to overcome her low self-esteem and act with the voice of leadership.
Watch out for these important plot devices involving her: The dormouse, Will's mother, Professor Collins, Matt
Pet Peeve: Low self-esteem and the struggle to overcome it.
Element: Will has no element in particular, but she can not only inspire her friends with her leadership and down-to-earth attitude, but also (while wielding the Heart of Kandrakar,) support them by enhancing their elemental powers.
Additional power: Can communicate with household appliances.
Fast Rumor: What do you think is Will short for? Her real name is apparently different with each version of WITCH. The Italian website says it's Willelmina. But apparently here in the Philippines it's Wilma!
Best quote: "Everything I put on makes me look like a surfboard..."
Supporting Cast
Cedric
The scheming mastermind of the effort against the guardians (at least, initially), he tries to come up with one plan after the other to defeat them. (Percival: "I'll be back!" from Arnold Schwarzenegger must be his favorite pickup line...)
Pet Peeve/Complex: He's just a plain loser. Always destined to lose.
Powers: Shapeshifting, and various other magical abilities. His true form is a snake-beast.
Best quote: "My name's Cedric, babe! And I know a lot about you!"

Yan Lin
Hay Lin's grandmother. The typical wise old figure who guides the young ones to their destiny. She presented Will with the Heart of Kandrakar.
On a side note: Hay Lin's father poisoned her... (No... we're kidding. It's medicine we tell you! But we couldn't resist making the connection.)
Powers: Like Hay Lin's they said. Wonder what she could've been able to do in her prime, eh?
Best quote: "If it's so good, why don't you put it on today's menu!"

Season 1 (#1-#12)
Elyon
Mysterious, secretive, self-serving, and yet fighting wholeheartedly for a cause, Elyon is just so fit to become a terrorist. She was once the tease-object of the gang, and thus she was so easily convinced to "go to the other side". (Percival comments: Elyon is fit to be, in Final Fantasy terms, the "last boss". But of course, did I remember to mention that in most Final Fantasy games, there is always a "real last boss"?)
Pet Peeve: Matt
Powers: Shapeshifting. Controlling the elements (note: Even though she can perform a variety of magic, Elyon's control of each element seems to be weaker than that of its associated guardian.) And other truly earthshaking powers she doesn't really use...
Best quote: "That is what I call an original excuse!"
Phobos
Despotic ruler of the "world behind the wall", Meridian. He keeps everything running with an iron fist, but he feels that he's losing control... so he comes up with one desperate plan to regain control...
Role and Powers: Just being a run-of-the-mill, evil, power-hungry punk with magical powers. He sits on the throne just waiting to be toppled by someone worthy... while letting his underlings do all the work for him.
Season 2 (#13-#24?)
Nerissa
A former Guardian of the Veil, she was banished for... something she did. Freed after a long period of captivity, she seeks revenge against the forces of Kandrakar...
Role: Sounds like a rebel leader fighting for a wrong cause. Of course we know who the good guys are, but it kinda makes you think do you?
Powers: Said to have all five "elements" under her control. Immensely powerful...(Percival: Who are you, Captain Planet?) And as usual, no evil boss is complete without her cohorts... (coming soon)
