Homemade Cottage (part2)

I worked on the "rock treatment" of the front side of the house over a couple days. I left the sides undone so that I can wrap the "rocks" around the sides when it's put together... I installed the door (and made door knobs using red beads I already had). I also installed the window frames. I like them, but they aren't extremely stable (they are easy to push out) so I may keep them or I may get rid of them, time will tell. I also added curtains (to the inside).

ASSEMBLING THE HOUSE! It's been a few months since my Grandpa and I cut the wood (err, well okay he did the actual cutting, but I stood and helped when I could, heh), and it's taken awhile to get everything together (the wood flooring, the bathroom tiling, the inside walling, the outside rocks, the door, the curtains...). But I finally began putting it together!

Added the second floor: I will probably nail in the second floor, but right now it's just sitting on the wooden brackets...

The side / the front. You can see the "rocks" need to be wrapped around. Not too bad! :)

Some quick decorating: The bathroom set (AC Moore $5), the bed and the hutch (each from AC Moore $0.99), fireplace and the bookcase and night stand from leftover wood from house (which only cost $6! and projects are here), staircase from popsicle sticks and dowel, railing from toothpicks and sticks.. Couch is another project I did, check it out here. My first attempt at real furniture, so it's not perfect but not too bad!
I will update more when I get more furniture (like a refrigerator! a kitchen table! a coffee table!) and work more on the bedroom (especially the bed). Look out for that! ;)

Well, I got a refrigerator and a kitchen table! Both white, but more glossy than the sink and stove so I will probably have to touch them up with some paint. The chair I stole from my second house bedroom - I only had it there because I bought it but then decided not to do the room I had intended to use it in. I may buy a second chair (AC Moore) but I kind of like only one chair.

I finally got around to finishing the house exterior! I wrapped the "rocks" around, dry-brushed and sealed it. So now all I have is the roof, then it's all about the interior!
