A Night in Spring

A blue butterfly comes through a window

Of my little flat, saying, "Let us make the best

Of such a fine night, let us dance under the shadow

Of the day going back to its nest.

Now every pain, every tear, every sorrow

Goes home to have some rest

So let us dance, and dance, for tomorrow

They will come back to hurt us with zest.

So raise your head, let us leave now,

The night sky is a soft black velvet with a star-made veil

And with a gold medal in which rambling rabbits are singing low

Let us not miss this fabulous night, and have fun without fail."

Then he took my hand

And we flew to the unknown land.
