On the first Tuesday each November at 3.20 p.m. nearly every person in Australia stops to watch or listen to one event. A horserace that lasts approximately 3 minutes 20 seconds. This is the Victoria Racing Club's MELBOURNE CUP. Since its inception in 1861, the Cup has fired the imagination of all Australians and now into the 21st century it has become an international race with horses travelling across the globe to try and win this holy grail of Australian racing.
