Chapter 7
The next day....

"Charlie I love you! Don't you believe me?" Caroline cried in
desperation.

"No! I want you gone by the time I get home from work!"

Gina couldn't help but overhear. She lived next door and their
screaming could be heard from down the street.

Caroline noticed Gina peeking through the crack in the door.
"Gina why don't you go talk to your rich parent's in law and stay out
of our damn business!" she ranted slamming the door in her face.

"Don't talk to her like that! It's not her fault she lives with a
British tramp!" Charlie yelled grabbing her arm.

But Gina was already out the door. I can't belive Caroline yelled at
me like that. She had always been, how did Charlie put it,
accomadating to me. Of course I know she's been through hard times in
England but so have I. She slowly rolled up her sleeve to reveal her
numbers that were tattoed on her arm. The concentration camp was a
distant memory, just like her mother was. After she met Mike and had
gotten pregnant she vowed to always sacrifice everything for her
child. "Now look at me, I'm standing outside alone, no money, and no
person to turn to cept Charlie." she whispered to herself. But she
couldn't think about her feelings for Charlie now....

"Jeff you look tired. Are you feeling okay?" Anne asked feeling his
forehead.

"Yeah mom I'm fine, stop babying me, I'm 21."

"Well she would if you stopped acting like one." Linda remarked
coming to her defense.

"Close your head."

Linda just rolled her eyes and continued typing on her mill.

Actually he hadn't slept at all. He spent the whole night thinking
about Ginger. The date went better then he had hoped. Well okay it
wasn't much of a date. They changed their original movie plans and
went fishing instead. It was his idea of course. but Ginger seemed to
love it...

I h
ated it. How can any woman enjoy fishing? All you do is sit there
and wait for them to grab on. And frankly the fish just didn't like
me. She couldn't imagine why. I would have much rather seen Robert
Taylor. Now theres someone she wouldn't mind catching at the end of
her line. But Jeff isn't shabby. She smiled to herself. And he kisses
so good. Just like a movie star, well at least what she pictured a
movie star would kiss like. And they did do their share of kissing.
No wonder they didn't catch anything, they probably scared all the
fish away... I've got to put these thoughts in the back of my mind.
You can't have Jeff Metcalf thinking your easy....

"Aww Sarah you know I'm easy." Hank said suggestivly.

"Well you don't have to wait that much longer, we're home." Sarah
giggled as she opened the door.

"Wait." Hank instucted as he carried her over the threshold.

"Hank!" Sarah yelled, happily surprised.

"Hank!" Anne dropped what she was doing and greeted the happy
newlyweds.

"Hi mom."

"Hello Mrs. Metcalf." Sarah smiled.

"Oh I've told you before Sarah, call me Anne." she corrected.

"Okay Mrs.  er  Anne." Sarah stammered.
