Melinda Marks Burgard received her M.A. in Music Therapy
from the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at
New York University.
She has trained with the Center for Music and Young
Children in Princeton, New Jersey and holds the credential of
Certified Music Therapist. She is a member of the American Music
Therapy Association as well as Warwick's "Source for the Healing Arts"
Collaborative. Ms. Burgard has presented workshops for the
Education Training Consortium of the Orange County Developmental
Disabilities Provider Network, The Orange County Department of Aging,
and the Orange County Child Care Council.
As the Founder of Melinda's Music in Warwick, New York, she has provided
Parent/Child Early Childhood Music Classes, musical programs for locals preschools,
libraries, senior centers and community gatherings. Melinda became a recording artist
in 2003 with the release of her highly acclaimed CD titled "I Can Do Most Anything!"
As a Music Therapist, Ms. Burgard has been facilitating Music Therapy
groups for over 19 years. She currently specializes in Children with Special Needs
including Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as the Elderly with Dementia
(including Alzheimer's) and Individuals on Palliative Care.
