The BILLY MOON Band |
The BILLY MOON Band was formed in April 1997 after Chuck ran into Mark Shaw at their
20th High School Reunion. Chuck had been writing songs under the name
"Billy Moon" for several years and had been playing out solo for about 7 months
when he met up with Mark, a lead guitarist who was looking to join a band.
Soon, they were joined by Mark's brother, Mike, |

on drums, and Mike's friend, Frank Ayd, on bass guitar. Within a month, the band was playing their first gig, opening for another band at a small bar in Baltimore called The Wishing Well. A few months later, the band found real success playing at The Reisterstown Festival, a large outdoor festival near Baltimore. They continued steadily playing venues and bars around Baltimore, through various personnel changes, until their last gig in March 2000. That final performance was at a benefit concert at the Towne Tavern for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. The final incarnation of The BILLY MOON Band was: * Chuck Moan (aka Billy Moon) -- Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar * Mark Shaw (aka Fresco Tequila) -- Lead Guitar & Backup Vocals * Matt Kelly (aka Poncho Romero) -- Bass Guitar * Mike Anders (no nickname) -- Drums * Teri Duncan (aka Mona Corona) -- Percussion |
