M A H A R A N A

1996 Chestnut Arabian Stallion
15.hh - Currently competing in Halter and Western Pleasure
Padrons Psyche x HS Mostly

Maharana is an ancient Hindi title for "God King". With his proud carriage and regal aloofness in the show ring, Rani is fast to impress upon all those around him that his name is not just pretty filler, but a true title for an exceptional stallion.

His warm copper coat is far from the typical chestnut, and has just the right amount of snowy flash to accentuate his wonderfully animated trot. His smooth blend of Crabbet & Russian Arabian lines gives him a unique blend of athleticism, correctness of structure, and graceful motion that are a true pleasure to watch. While he shines in hand, we do occasionally add some western pleasure to his repertoire, helping to round him out and keep him from becoming bored. He is responsive and willing in the ring, happy to do whatever is asked of him. He has come to relish and thrive off the attention showing gets him. He knows when all eyes are on him, and he definitely plays to the crowd!

Once he is outside the ring, he will do what you ask of him, so long as it’s on his agenda, behaving in the truest manner of a king. Rani does require a confident hand, only because he will push the boundaries when he believes he can get away with it. Luckily, Alexander has joined us as Rani's handler, and the pair have a wonderful relationship based on mutual respect and understanding. We are looking forward to getting some foals on the ground from this stunning fellow in 2007.
