David Mallia Born 23 March 1962 in Malta Studied Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Malta, obtaining his bachelor's degree in 1988. Subsequently read for his MA (1996) and Ph.D. (2002) in conservation at the Politecnico di Milano. Has been employed as an architect with the public sector since 1988. Was very active in his student days being organist at the Mdina Cathedral and member of various student organisations. Elected council member of Din l-Art Helwa - Malta's National Trust for heritage conservation in 1994 and web-master of the Malta Historical Society in 1998. Founder member of ICOMOS (Malta). Lectures on conservation at the University of Malta, the Institute of Baroque Studies, the Institute of Stone Conservation and the Institute of Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage. He is a member of the Malta Heritage Advisory Committee of the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.
