Sites to Explore with your child:

  • Book Adventure - The people at Book Adventure have partnered with the International Reading Association to provide you with a list of great books to read. Every 3 months this list is updated so you have lots of books to choose from. The book lists will be sorted by grade level with any books that have a Book Adventure quiz marked with a book picture. Great reading for kids on or off the Internet.

  • Kids’ Castle. The Smithsonian Institution’s site for kids offers an interactive look at the museum’s treasures and educational program. It’s bright, colorful, and lots of fun.
  • Kids Connect. Online question and answer service for kids K–12. Sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians, a division of the American Library Association, with support from Microsoft.
  • The Why Files. This project of the National Institute for Science Education offers well-researched and clearly written investigations of current topics in science. A new story is posted every other week, and the site also includes a small but worthy collection of scientific images.
  • Yuckiest Site on the Internet. Young people who love yucky things will enjoy a visit to this site to learn about worms, roaches, and the gross and cool things in their bodies.
