Cursed as he is, Verem of course knows everything about the maze Aidan was trapped in--the way out, the way to get through quickest and with the least injury, the identity of Aidan's tormentor, the fact that Aidan is doomed to return to the torment in the dark...but even if he cannot communicate any of this to his bond, he knows it is his fate to accompany Aidan to the ending that awaits them. Grim and resigned, gives the appearance of being without emotion, since to show relief or dismay would give away knowledge Aidan does not possess, but he loves his bond and doesn't want to mislead him with false emotion, either.
