What Matters -- A New Person!

"It doesn't matter if you are circumcised or not. All that matters
is that
you are a new person. If you follow this rule, you will belong to
God's true
people. God will treat you with undeserved kindness and will bless
you with
peace" (Galatians 6:15-16, CEV).

Paul powerfully summarizes what he has been trying to convey to these
confused believers in this letter. Circumcision doesn't really matter.
As
one person put it: the main thing is to keep the main thing the
main thing.
And here Paul says the main thing ultimately is that we are new
persons in
Christ. We are God's true people, having been showered with his
kindness and
blessed with his peace. Are you a new person in Christ? Have you
opened your
life totally to Him? Religious acts aren't enough. Your relationship
to
Christ is what counts.
Prayer response: Father, I humbly bow in your presence today. I realize
that
through your Son, Jesus Christ, I am a new person. Help me to live
like one.
Grant me your continued grace in my relationships with others, especially
toward those I may have ignored or even shunned because they were
different
than I. Please forgive me and help me to be all that you want me
to be this
day. I offer myself to you, in Jesus' name.
