Beyond the Madness
Bobby Jones remains content to coach high school basketball
By Allen Palmeri
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord."–Ephesians 5:8-10

Earning A Father's Approval
Success has been passed down in the (Dale) Jarrett family, but the main goal is to make their Heavenly Father proud
By David Smale
Anyone who has played an organized sport on the same team as the coach’s son or daughter knows the problem. If the kid is the star, there are charges of nepotism. Navy's Brian Madden saw his plans derailed, but he's looking to God for guidance
By David Smale
Brian Madden had it all planned. He was going to be an All-American quarterback, win the Heisman Trophy and lead the Naval Academy to an undefeated season. A very humble young man, the praise and adulation that would be coming his way still would be music to his ears.
But during spring practice, he heard a different sound. It was a pop, the sound a knee makes when it goes a different way than God designed it to go.

By Allen Palmeri
To the glory of a God who gives us certain freedoms, people like to emphasize different aspects of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. For example, Texas quarterback Major Applewhite has fallen in love with the first word. The depth of his love for fellowship can be traced to his first year on campus.

Texas Manager Johnny Oates admits he needs Christ every minute of every day
By David Smale

Johnny Oates is no different from the guy sitting next to you in the doctor’s office, on the airplane or wherever you’re reading this article. He needs Jesus Christ.
