Daniel Clark

Daniel Clark 1831 - 27 Apr 1904, born County Cork arrived in Australia 1953 and wed 1855 at St Francis Melbourne to Margaret Mahoney 1829 - 15 Oct 1920 aged 91, born in County Clare, Ireland
Daniel worked as a miner first at Sandy Creek then he and Margaret settled at Arnold's Bridge in 1873. Margaret was blind for the last 40 years of her life.

This is the Tarnagulla family, but in the Deaths index, the Joseph died 1938 uses the names John Joseph Henry Clark, son of Hannah Shone and John Brown Clark. Obviously this identification is now in question - or the date of death is lacking something. I found 13 births for Emily, but 4 of those were dead when she died - a great grand-daughter confirms the statement that she was 'survived by her husband and 13 children', and provided the missing births. The index varies the spelling of Clark - Clarke, uses 'Jos' for Joseph, but is consistent with 'Emily Chamberlain' after 1888.

3 ~ Anna Clarke was born 5/5/1884 and died 22/10/1949 and she married Alexander Gray and he was born 1873 and died 16/10/1927 at Tarnagulla.
4 ~ Mary Clarke was born 28/6/1886 and died 8/4/1891 at Tarnagulla and died of Acute Pneumonia at Age 4 1/2 years old.
5 ~ Joseph Clarke was born 7/6/1888 #25214 and died 26/5/1962 and he married May Alexander on the 1915 and she died 24/2/1963.
6 ~ Frances Clarke was born 12/8/1890 and died 11/8/1948 at Mildura and married Angus Venn Elliott in 1915 he was born 1892 and died 1935 at Melbourne East.
7 ~ John George Clarke was born 24/7/1892 at Tarnagulla, died 29/4/1938 at Dunolly and is Buried at Tarnagulla grave no. 294 and he married Doris Crossley.
8 ~ Emily Caroline Clarke was born 10/7/1894 at Tarnagulla and died on the 11/12/1895 at Tarnagulla.
9 ~ Ruby Helen Clarke was born 12/8/1896 at Tarnagulla and died 3/10/1967 at Glenhuntly and she married Edwin Andrew Sarkies in 1919.
10 ~ Daniel Thomas Clarke was born 10/5/1898 at Tarnagulla and died on the 19/1/1967 at Inglewood and is buried at Tarnagulla grave no. 696.
11 ~ William Alfred Clarke was born 29/12/1899 at Arnold and died 6/10/1970 at Tarnagulla and is buried at Ballarat and he married Hilda Comrie and she was born 14/4/1904 and died 5/9/1978 at Maryborough and is buried at Ballarat.
12 ~ Richard Clarke was born 8/7/1901 and died 31/10/1930 at Inglewood and is buried at Tarnagulla grave no. 294 he had T.B. in the Lungs. He never married.
13 ~ Vera Mary Clarke was born 18/12/1902 and died 22/8/1930 at Tarnagulla and is buried at Tarnagulla and she married Neville Green he was born 1901 and died 1976. Vera died of T.B. in the Throat.
14 ~ Harold Clarke was born 20/12/1904 and died in 1980 at Mildura and he married Edna Krake.
15 ~ Leonard Clarke was born 9/7/1907 at Tarnagulla and died 1958 at Mildura and never married.
16 ~ Ronald Clarke was born 30/6/1909 at Tarnagulla and died 27/12/1983 at Mildura.
17 ~ Arthur Joseph Clarke was born 15/6/1914 at Tarnagulla and died 2/7/1914 #10164 aged 18 days at Inglewood and is Buried at Tarnagulla.
