Foulds

William Wilkie Foulds was born 1807 in Stevenston, Scotland (parents John Faulds and Grizal Wilkie) and died at Marcus Hill, Victoria in 1902 (buried in Queenscliff Cemetery ). My interest in William Wilkie Foulds is that he’s my great great great grandfather.

He came out to SA from Scotland with his first wife, Elizabeth McBride, and children John Winter, Barbara, Grace, William (my great great grandfather), James Angus in 1849 on the Florentia. In Stevenston on the 1841 census he is recorded as a hand loom weaver. Elizabeth died in 1851 and William Wilkie married Janet McCallum in 1853 at Halifax St , Adelaide. They then moved to Victoria.

The Florentia was the 10th ship from England to S.A. with government passengers for 1849 - William Foulds 40 Farmer from Ayr, Elizabeth (Winter) Foulds 40, John Foulds 20, Grace Foulds 18, Barbara Foulds 16, William Foulds 13, and James Foulds 7
