Cynthia Neale (my email bounced back 10 Dec 2004) writes:-
John Torney and Margaret Brougham married 21 Jan 1854 (I have certificate) and first child John was born 1855 but not registered. I have his death certificate.
John Torney and Margaret Brougham are my great-great-grandparents.
John was born in Portaferry County Down and Margaret was born in Flagmount, Shank Hill, Co Kilkenny. But I am having trouble finding out much more than that.

John Torney and Margaret Brougham came c1855 and lived in the Ballarat area when Ellen, the only birth registered, was born. John 1833 - 1892 #5360 died at Broomfield aged 59, and Margaret vanished.
