MORE ABOUT ME

My parents came to Toronto in the late 1950's for what they intended to be a short time to work, save money, and return to Greece to build a home and start a family. Obviously, the plan changed, and after several years, and two children, they realized that they were staying in Canada.

A great part of who I am, comes from the culture in which I've grown up. Though born and raised in Toronto, everything I am, is Greek. This I owe to my parents, for they raised me to respect the history, the language, and the traditions.

My first spoken language was Greek and my summers were spent in Greece so that I may learn to appreciate my heritage. While as a child I could not understand why my parents would not allow me to spend summers in Toronto with my friends, as I grew, I understood just how important a role these trips played in my development.

Family is such a big part of being Greek, and trips to Greece always include visiting a never-ending stream of relatives. I particularly look forward to the opportunity to spend time with my grandparents, who's wisdom and experience grounds me,reminding me to always appreciate the little things we tend to overlook in our day-to-day life, and not to take anything for granted.

My grandfather sadly passed away on November 7, 2000 at the age of 93.
His absence will forever be felt by all those graced to have had him in their life.
