The Bible is the world's best-selling book. In 2003, 432 million
Bibles or Scripture portions were printed by Bible societies
internationally. The Bible is now translated in more than
2,200 languages with new language editions. The Scripture
has a universal appeal. Young and old are inspired by
its hopeful words. The educated and the uneducated are
changed by its message of salvation. Rich and poor alike
are uplifted by its encouraging vision of new heavens
and a new earth. It speaks to the hearts of men and women
of all ethnic groups, all cultures, and all ages.

"Having been born again, not of corruptible
seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives
and abides forever" (1 Peter 1:23)
"Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might
not sin against You" (Ps. 119:11)
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my
path" (Ps. 119:105)

How did the Bible come about?
"Holy men of God spoke as they were moved
by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:21)

As you open God's Word, do so with a sense of excitement -
God Himself is going to communicate with you. Believe that
He will speak to you in His Word. As you prayerfully study
God's Word, you will be richly rewarded. Your faith will increase.
You will get to know Jesus better. And you will understand
His will for your life more clearly. Best of all, you will
experience the abundant and eternal life He so freely offers.
