THE BEGINNINGS (1938-1950)
It was in 1938 that the great love of God for the town of Mexico was first preached in Mexico by Adventist believers. The event was headed by Pastor Lorenzo Yutuc together with Pastor Ambrocio Alcaraz, Pastor Juanito Tulio and missionary Diosdado Liwag.
They preached the gospel in public gatherings in front of the Municipal Hall of Mexico. After three months, there were many souls moved by the Holy Spirit to accept the Lord and were baptized in water as a sign of their faith. The people who were baptized in 1938 were Feliciano Canlas, Maria Somera Canlas, Domingo Canlas, Felipe Canlas, Ofrecinia Canlas Honrada, Benita Canlas, Nicanor Evangelista, Dominga Evangelista Esguerra, Isabel Evangelista, Nemensio Evangelista, Romulo Evangelista, Neopito Evangelista, Onesima Evangelista, Greogorio Evangelista, Luzviminda Evangelista, Rodolfo Evangelista, Gregoio Canda, Patria Guillermo, Victoria Aquino, Privimita Pilao, Juliana Pilao, Ireneo Villanueva, Epifania Villanueva, Maxima Castor, Jehosebia Dimacali, Teofisto Pilao, Cornelio Aquino, Andrea Canda and Marcos Manalo. They were all baptized by Pastor Vicente Santos at the Bungang Guinto River.

The work of the Lord kept bearing fruit in 1938. There was no church building yet to hold church services but the Lord is good to the children he calls. God did not abandon them so they held services at the house of Mr. And Mrs. Alejandro Salas in Tinajeros San Antonio. Here they sang praises to the Lord and studied the Bible and so were strengthened in their faith. But they were increasing in number and they needed a bigger place to worship so they all prayed together to God for guidance in putting up a church building. After a few months, their prayers were answered and were given a 242 square meter lot by Mr. Asiong Panlilio and his wife Perfecta. Here they built a church made of wood under the leadership of Pastor Lorenzo Yutuc. Due to their unity and willingness to give of themselves, they finished the church and they increased in their devotion to the Lord. The oldest member of the church at that time was Mr. Nicanor Evangelista.

Because of their strong faith they kept on preaching the Word of God. After a year, many were added to their group. These were Tomas Canlas, Aniceta Canlas, Leoteria Canlas, Leoncio Trono, Consolacion Trono, Rogelio Trono, Igmidio Trono, Avelino Canlas, Budisto Calma and Juanita Calma. When World War II came, this group remained faithful to the Lord but some of the men were killed by the Japanese invaders because they worshipped on the Sabbath. After the war, the church grew again in number. In l948 Juanita Trono Mangiliman and others were baptized.

Continuing to Grow (1950-1980)
The church increased again in attendance. First, it was due to the faithful preaching of the gospel, and second the families grew in number. To promote more praise and worship, a group of singers formed the “Never Grow Old Singers” under the direction of Sister Pilar Bernabe. The members were Juanita Mangiliman, Francisco Gatdula, Mely Gatdula, Tita Bermejo, Mario Bermejo, Ester Mangiliman Saludez, Naring Mangiliman Manlungat, Helen Gatdula Punzalan, Tex Gatdula Musni, Crispina Bernabe, Mary Ann Bernabe, Beng Gartdula, Ernesto Trono, Eddie Trono, Elmer Trono, Eliezer Trono and Romeo Mangiliman. The Never Grow Old singers ministered from l960 to 1969. They sang praises to the Lord not only in the town of Mexico but also in other places like San Fernando, Manibaug, Natividad, Sta. Catalina and Candaba.

The church built in l938 was made of wood. The time came for it to be renovated and made with stronger materials. In l965, the building was fenced with the donations of members. In l968 under the leadership of Brother Ernesto Mangiliman, the church was renovated starting with only l20 pesos. At first, the members were doubtful that they could raise more funds but the Lord moved and He guided the construction so the work continued. The members stayed faithful to the Lord.

The Victory (1981-2001)
The construction work started in l968 succeeded and the work was finished in l993. Now the church building is a beautiful place to worship and praise the Lord. One of the people the Lord used was Sister Juanita Mangiliman. She went around collecting donations. Some of those who gave were Dr. Nehemias Esguerra, Joey Canlas, Felisa Evangelista Toledano, Magdalena Cruz and many others.

The worship and praise became more enthusiastic and warm with the formation of the group Covenant Singers that became famous in the district. The members of the group were Dan Gatdula, Rico Gatdula, Ellen Gatdula Punzalan, Tek Musni, Edna Trono Gatdula, Irene Lorenzo, Josie Trono Pallasigue, Crispina Bernabe, Mary Ann Bernabe, Tita Bermejo, Allan Lorenzo, Alvin Lorenzo and Lani Limiac. Another male singing group was also formed named 21st Creation Singers under the guidance of Bro. Dan Gatdula. Male members of this group were Allan Lorenzo, Alvin Lorenzo, Jing Gatdula, Rico Gatdula and Cyrus Bermejo. A youth group, Faithful Heart Singers was also formed under the leadership of Cyrus Bermejo and Allan Gatdula. The young members were Cynthia Razon, Eden Trono, Analiza Trono, Michelle Pilao, Sandra Pilao, Erwin Trono and Joseph Trono.

God always blessed the church but there were times when the number dwindled due to many reasons. One reason is some members married outside the church and left. Another reason is some did not have a strong faith to withstand the trials and tribulations of life so they were carried away by the enemy. Some members immigrated abroad. At this time, there was a slow growth of the church. The only ones added to the church were the children born to the members. But there were still the old members like Bro. Florentino Razon, Sister Francisca Razon, Sister Gloria Razon, Sister Nympha Onofre, Sister Estela Mutuc, Brother Bong Saludez, Sister Paciencia Trono, Sister Magdalena Flores, Siser Adelina Dizon, Sister Leonora Angeles Trono, Elmer Trono, Erlinda Trono, Mely Trono, Elizabeth Trono, Estrella Trono, Edna Trono,Brother Tomas Trono and his wife Sister Leticia Trono. Their children were Rolly Trono, Josie Trono, Joseph Trono, Lisa Trono, Randy Trono and Eileen Trono. Children of other families were: Ruth Mangiliman, John Mangiliman, Helen Saludez, John Saludez, Joel Manlungat, Joy Manlungat, Joel Razon, Reylord Reyes, Reybert Reyes Jr., Babylove Reyes, JR Trono, Eric Trono, Ernan Trono, Elaine Trono, Leoni Bermejo, Julie Gatdula, Ann Gatdula, Alex Lorenzo, Irene Lorenzo, Andrea Lorenzo.

Others considered senior members of the church and still serving are Bro. Ernesto Mangiliman, Bro. Jaime Manlungat, Bro. Eddie Bulario, Bro. Melvin de Guzman, Bro. Randy Trono, Bro. New members added recently to the church were Joseph Sese and Dominador Cunanan. The love and guidance of the Lord since the beginning has always inspired our church members to continue in the Adventist faith resting on the Word of God. At present, the membership numbers 50 under the leadership of elder members Bro. Ruben Bermejo, Bro. Reybert Reyes and others. With the help of the Holy Spirit, the way of salvation is being preached and hopefully many souls will be brought to the Lord Jesus.
