Score Explanation
Overall Aesthetics (This refers to the WebQuest page itself, not the external resources linked to it).
Overall Visual Appeal
(0-4 pts.)
3  The font of this WebQuest is large enough to read, but not too large to be distracting. The background is a dark color, so it's very visible on a white background and isn't distracting. I think it's a little plain though and that they could have used more color than just a border. There's only one picture on the whole WebQuest. The rubric is very colorful and looks the nicest out of every other page of the WebQuest.
Navigation & Flow
(0-4 pts.)
3  All of the student components are listed top to bottom on one page. Students just need to scroll down the page. Targets are at the top of the page and can take the students to a particular area. The sections aren't blocked off. Everything just runs together. I would recommend either having separate pages with links on every page so they don't have to keep scrolling up and down all of the time or having the links at each section of the WebQuest.
Mechanical Aspects
(0-2 pts.)
1  All of the targets work except for three. They say plug ins are not available for some reason.
Introduction
Motivational effectiveness of Introduction (0-2 pts.)  1 It doesn't seem to be very motivational to me. It concentrates too much on marriage. These are young teenage kids. Most of them are not thinking about marriage at this age. They have enough problems to deal with. I would recommend talking more about dating, dating violence, and what constitutes a healthy relationship.
Cognitive effectiveness of the Introduction
(0-2 pts.)
I  think that it's very clear. The students should know exactly what they have to do. The process is written step by step. It was written in part 1 and part 2 to make it easier and more understandable.
Task (The task is the end result of student efforts... not the steps involved in getting there).
Connection of Task to Standards
(0-4 pts.)
4 The task clearly fits with the standards listed on the teacher page.
Cognitive Level
of the Task
(0-6 pts.)
4 The directions are easy to follow, but I feel that some students may find this very difficult, while others may get done quickly. It doesn't really relate to something that happens in their lives right now. Plus, some students may not be very computer literate. Some may not have a computer at home to be. It's also very time consuming. It's a lot of work.
Process (The process is the step-by-step description of how students will accomplish the task).
Clarity of Process
(0-4 pts.)
 3
The process is clear, though items in the evaluation do not appear to be in the process.
Scaffolding of Process
(0-6 pts.)
 5
The activities are clearly related to completing the task. It's very organized.
Richness of Process
(0-2 pts.)
 1
The students need a more intensive role. Something that is really going to motivate them. Also, there are no roles assigned for each member of the group. The task could be expanded by having one group member assigned a specific role. Each group member completes their role and then all group members could come together and work on relating each area they were assigned to the final project.
Resources (Note: you should evaluate all resources linked to the page, even if they are in sections other than the Resources block. Also note that books, video and other offline resources can and should be used where appropriate.)
Relevance & Quantity of Resources
(0-4 pts.)
4  All of the resources are excellent references for the students to complete this project. They all fit right in with the task.  There is a good number of resources for the students in order to complete the task also.
Quality of
Resources
(0-4 pts.)
4 All of the resources are excellent references and fit right in with the task. They will definitley help the students in order to complete the project.
Evaluation
Clarity of Evaluation Criteria
(0-6 pts.)
6 The rubric is excellent. It's very organized and colorful. It fits right in with the process. It's very organized and let's the students know exactly what they need to have for their grade. It basically goes right along with the process so the students just need to follow this in order to get a good grade on the project.
Total Score
(0-50 pts.)
41  This WebQuest is good, but it needs some more work. It's a good idea, but it needs to relate to what is going on in the student's lives now, not later in life. They date at the high school level, but most of them aren't even thinking about marriage at this point in their lives. It should concentrate more on dating, dating violence, and healthy relationships.
