My First Scan - Selecting TWAIN
To scan your color photos, text/lineart, web images or printed matter, follow the procedures below:
  1. Select the VistaScan icon from the VistaScan program folder. The VistaScan driver will appear.
Alternatively, you may start a TWAIN compliant application, such as Photoshop, and activate the VistaScan driver by selecting VistaScan as your TWAIN source via the Select TWAIN Source command in the File menu.
  1. Place your document into your scanner.
  2. Click the Preview button to preview the scanned item.
Note: If you access VistaScan from a TWAIN compliant application, you should skip Steps 4 and 5.
  1. Click one of the small icons in the "Scan to" control panel representing the desired destination (a folder, printer, email application etc.) for the scanned image. Then click the "Preferences" icon d1.gif (1227 bytes)  (or mac.jpg (522 bytes)in Mac ) on the top right of the VistaScan interface. The Preferences dialog box will appear.
  2. Enter the relevant details into the "File Name", "File Format" and "File Folder" fields respectively. You may use the "Browse" button to help you locate the desired folder for your image. Click here for further details.
  3. Use  (Frame) Tool to resize or move a frame in the Preview Window.
  4. From the VistaScan interface, select the desired image type from among the four preset image types: Color photos, Text/lineart, Web Images or Printed Matter. The scanner will start scanning now.
  5. After the scanning is complete, you will find the scanned image where you have indicated in Step 5.
Or, if you have accessed VistaScan from a TWAIN compliant application, you will find the image displayed at the applications desktop already.

* Note: The Select TWAIN Source and Acquire commands vary for different software because most manufacturers design their own user interfaces. You may refer to the online help for details on selecting TWAIN drivers and inputting images.
