Game Info
-This was Electronic Art's first non sports game for the N64.  It turned out to be one of the best racing games on the N64. The game is all about secrets, with many shortcuts.  They aren't really shortcuts, but longcuts.  They just get you the Beetle points you need for continues.  The 6 huge tracks are so awesome and detailed.  There is so many things in the levels.

Gameplay: A
-So many secrets.  So much track to explore.... Can't do it all... must play it more....and more.  There is 4 different levels of difficulty, each level getting an additional track added to the circuit.  There are nitros in the levels, but you must use it automatically.  The mulitplayer Beetle Battle is fun, where you must collect the different beetle colors while preventing the other opponents from getting them with rockets and beetle stealers.

Graphics: A+
-Superb.  One of the best in all N64 games, and it's a racing game to add to it.  The tracks are very detailed.

Sound: A-
-Some catchy tunes.  Not as good as Rare's music, but o.k. The car crashes and "groovy" sound effects are funny.

Replay: A-
-There are a lot of things you want to explore in the immense tracks.  All the Flower Boxes are hidden very well.

Challenge: A+
-It will take awhile to beat some of the difficulties, but you'll get there.

Grade: 92%
"The best sports game maker takes their chances on a great racing game."
