-Mario Golf 64 was one of the best games on the N64 and probably the best golf game there was at the time. Now that Mario Golf is on GameCube does it compete with Tiger Woods PGA Tour? Yes. Though Tiger Woods is a lot more realistic, Mario Golf offers more ways to play and a bunch of Mario characters. Gameplay: B+ Camelot made the game easier to play for little kids. But I watched some little kids play Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and they just as much trouble playing as they did in Mario Golf 64. The new automatic swinger doesn't really help at all, though it is good when you want a perfectly straight shot. Camera is kinda a big problem in this game, because of the confusing buttons and tricky settings. Camelot should have added more freedom to the camera. Moving on, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour has many great courses. The Mario-related ones will take some effort to unlock, but not to much time. There are so many ways to play in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, it's amazing. Speed golf, Coin attack, Ring Mode, Birdie challenge, and more. So much replay value. Graphics: B+ Very colorful. The grass is highly detailed, and the character models look great, except for Bowser, who looks very plain. The courses look magnificent and deserve credit. Sound: A There are many recognizable tunes in the game from Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine. The sound effects are standard and realistic. Challenge: B- Tournaments should hardly give you a hassle to win. I thought the game would be a lot harder, but it really isn't. Though there are some really tough challenges in the game. Replay: A Tons of replay value. Multiplayer is great, with many ways to play. This game will take along time to unlock everything such as secret characers and star characters. Overall: 89% "A great golf game, but Tiger Woods is slimly better." |
