Game Info
-The 4th title in a great series of party games!  This is the first Mario Party game on GameCube.  The graphics are vastly improved and 50 new minigames are added!  You can play as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Daisy, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Waluigi.

Gameplay: B
It's basically the same as Mario Party 1 except for some new gameplay elements and different games.  There are 5 boards, though the number may seem small, the boards are large, and there's also some extra boards.  Each board is based around a Mario side character- Toad, Boo, Shy Guy, Koopa, and Goomba.  Each board is unique and is fun.  The new minigames though is what makes Mario Party 4 really stand out.  There are 50, plus side minigames on the courses.  They are all really fun, but sometimes during gameplay, 50 isn't enough games.  Also in Mario Party 4, is the Story Mode.  You pick a character and win presents for their "birthday".  Each character has 6 presents; making you have to play each board once to get the present.  There are about 50 presents to earn, a great replay.  Playing 1-player isn't so bad in my opinion.  Other reviews gripe that you have to watch the computer players turns, but the game wouldn't work out right if you didn't.

Graphics: B+
Some of the graphics are really great.  The water effects are spectacular.  Some things are a bit blurry, but overall it's top quality.

Sound: B
The overly happy tunes are OK to listen to.  The character's voices are also OK, with short phrases.  There are new sound effects for some characters like the Thwomps or Goombas.

Challenge: C
It doesn't take much effort to win against computer players.  They seem to be ultra easy or super expert.

Replay: A
With over 50 presents and unlockable minigames, you won't want to put Mario Party 4 down.  4-player is great!

Overall: B   Grade: 85%
"Having a lot of improvements, you should definetley pick up MArio Party 4."
