Game Info
-Resident Evil could most likely be the scariest game ever created.  I had never played a Resident Evil game before and I sure was in for a surprise.  Zombies walk from the dead wanted to infect and eat people.  Dogs and plants have also been infected and pose a great threat to your survival.  This mansion looked smaller from the outside.

Gameplay: B+
There is a most annoying control scheme that requires you to get used to.  Aiming with a gun also takes some getting used to.  As long as you have a finishing item, you can't be bitten while a zombie is no you.  These are the basics of Resident Evil.  You can choose between two different characters to play the game with, each with a different storyline.  There's also a slew of endings that depend on what you do in the game.  You must explore the mansion looking for evidence of what happened.  You'll uncover keys and journals that'll tell the past history of the mansion.  You can examine objects in the start menu to look for clues.  For example, a strange coin can be unfolded into a fake key.  Traps are everywhere and you'll have second thoughts about taking that gun on the floor or opening that door.  Zombies will be in windows and will bust out doors looking for you.  They regenerate after while, to keep the action up.  You don't want to play this at night.

Graphics: A
Pre-rendered backgrounds are Resident Evil's trademark.  They are photo-realistic along with the characters and cutscenes.

Sound: A-
A strange creepy noise is heard throughout the game.  You'll also be able to hear zombies breathing far away, waiting for you...

Challenge: A
Puzzles and non-stop zombie killing is all you'll find in this game.  Very hard.

Replay: B+
Two different stories, different difficulty settings, and 10+ endings.

Overall: 91%
"Horror redefined."
