-Possibly the funniest cartoon ever, The Simpsons get yet another videogame. This one though is a better attempt to truly be faithful to the cartoon. The voices are straight from the show and the landmarks are where they are in the cartoon. Gameplay: B- Mr. Burns has taken the normal transportation buses and replaced them with radioactive buses. The residents are mad and start their own taxi service. There is 18 playable characters, with over 25 characters you meet and pick up. The biggest problem is the repeitiveness of the voice acting. You'll get annoyed by hearing some of the same, funny lines over and over. Story mode offers 10 missions, but with an option to skip a mission if you fail more than 5 times in a row. Sunday drive lets you explore the huge environments with no time limit, but no money. It all borrows from Crazi Taxi, which is OK, if it was done right. I just wish you could have more options in normal mode, such as a longer time limit. Graphics: C Surprisingly not cel shading, it is normal 3-D. Though at times, it can look like the cartoon. The frame rate bobs up and down, when crashing into things. The physics are so unrealistic, though on the back of the cover of the game it boasts a "new physics engine". Sound: B Hearing the same one-liners over and over can get annoying, but overall the voice acting is great. The background music is a bit quiet, though. Challenge: B Story mode can get pretty frustrating, even though itt gives the option of skipping the mission if you fail too much. Normal can give you a challenge if you try for a good sum of money. Replay: C+ Multiplayer is fun, with a "Capture-The-Passenger" type premise. Unlocking all the stages and characters can take awhile, but will get repetitive. Overall: 79% "A great copycat of Crazy Taxi." |
