Player Profile - Bryant Reeves
Here is my comments for the year 2000:
He came back to the 2000 Grizz training camp at the best shape in a few years. With together with
Ike, I hoped something would change within Big
Country. After so so games, he was benched one game and changed to the bench start letting Ike start the game.
At that point, most of the players should be unhappy and angry with themselves as well as the coaching staff of not using him at the best;
however, something changed him and now he is playing better.
As he said at one of the recent interviews, being a starter is not as much important as getting the playing minutes.
It's so true in his case.
He lost the starting position to Ike, but he is playing much better than before and getting more minutes.
He may have lost his "star" status, but he gained more for playing better within him.
Many local fans booed at him for the last few games, and by the time he played well and went back to the bench
they were applauding for him. Not fair, but the that's the reality of the fans.
In the new city, I wish him the best. Maybe what he needs is a big environment change.
