Player Profile - Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

Someone nice has answered my question! Mahmoud is now playing for the Russian league =) And he and his team are doing great!!

During this off season, I received e-mails from the Mahmoud's fan. She has the same condition as he does and he was a great mental support for her in the past. I think she needs his support now. If anyone who knows Mahmoud personally is reading this right now, I appreciate if you can contact me by private mail.
I definitely will miss watching his games. I believe Grizz has the team option for the 2001 season for Mahmoud. I'm not an expert on the contract and the salary. So, I don't exactly mean what the "team option" is. But what I want is very clear. I don't want him to retire yet. I haven't seen his games enough. I really want to watch him play no matter where he goes.

I think he was the best jump shooter and the passer of the 2000 Grizz. He could see the opportunity and made the quick judgment to pass or to shoot the ball.
I just love watching him play.

My general comments about Mahmoud in the past:

His smiles are so sincere, you feel like confessing your secrets. He seems to have someone watching over him or did I watch too much TV? When you see him playing the games, you don't see these smiles. I have only seen him playing 2 games and almost all his shots were short. After a year and a half blank, it cannot come so easy to have your shots back, but I think he will. At least I believe in him.

I just don't want to see his smiles gone. I want him to be happy about his choice of coming back to NBA.

When He signed with the Grizz, I was rather surprised to be honest that so many Japanese fans told me on this website's message board how lucky we were to have him back with the Grizz. And they all told me how he was such a special player and how much they admired him and so on.
