Player Profile - Stromile Swift
2002/3 season: He is looking like a NBA player!!
My past comments about Stro:
He is still learning. I heard some people saying he is not good as he was expected to be, but I don't agree.
Probably he is the most talented player in the team, but
systematically he doesn't know what to do yet in NBA.
He is not the self learner like Shareef or Bibby, at least that's what I
think. Someone like Shareef, Grant, Doug and Ike must teach him as well as other
coaches. He is still a young puppy. He should be able to absorb all the
knowledge he can receive this season. His time must come and may come really big
in the future.
Well, I saw him play twice at the Pre-season games so far. Need more time to really understand and move thought
thinking and checking what the offensive or the defensive patterns are; however, you can see the potential. You can visibly feel
his athleticism. How high he can jump to block the balls and make the dunks.
I've never seen anyone making the blacks the way he does. I never thought I enjoy looking at someone making block shots, but I do now.
He was picked second overall at the year 2000 draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. Unlike the previous year's pick he is happy to be with the Grizzlies and the city. We already like Stro for these reasons.
