I've often wondered whether Mike has visited this site before, or whether he even knows it exists, or whether he's even looked for it. And what would happen if he did know it existed and mentioned it sometime in an interview or online chat. That could do great things for this site and the club that started just as a fanpage to the young actor. The probability he has visited the MWS-site (as i like to call it), however is very little, and even less for him to mention it. But if he did visit it and looked around he'd see what dedicated people he has working on a site about him and how these people all share the same passion and like for an actor. A passion that has some how made a community.

But seriously, its not really passion for Mike and his work that made this site, its the determination of people who like him and making webpages combined.

I started the MWS-site back in early January 2000 after being a fan of The Tribe for some months, not knowing whether people would want to visit it, or even if there was people not to want to visit it. I had absolutely no idea how many fans Mike had. It was at that point the club was formed (which now has 90+ members) as I thought the fans could communicate through it, make new friends who share a common interest and also swap gossip, pics and everything else. The club was launched just weeks before the MWS-site V.1 was. If memore recalls correctly I think on my first week I had all of 70ish visits, which was more than I could have dreamed for. Suddenly, word was getting around about the site and club, more people were joining and visiting than I even know liked Mike. I mean being a regular visitor to the Tribe UBB I knew there was maybe another 15 or so who shared my Mike love, but no idea this many did. The best thing was when people posted in my guestbook "this is the best mike site" and "you site rocks" keep up the good work!" that I really got a buzz. People were relishing the weekly updates of pics from the previous episode and the gossip I would have from my connections to Mike.

Then when I had over 2000 visitors to the site, the weekly updates became fortnightly, and the fortnightly became monthly and then ya know it, no updates since May 2000 until February 2001, when the site returned with a new look. What can I say? In that year my life went from bad to worse, my parents divorced and a whole load of other stuff, (i'd tell ya but who wants my life history, its like a bad Catherine Cookson novel). Thats not to say I didnt have new material to put up, as I did, and although I felt obligated I couldnt bring myself too do it, I didnt have the energy. I also never stopped visiting this site and club either, I performed random visits at least every 2 weeks. It was around January 2001 when I decided the site needed to be re-born, brought back from the dead, re-lit, given a new birth (you get the picture) so I decided to give the site a new look and new features and things to help it along, the same with the club. And there we go, in February/March the site was back into production and re-launched, to be prosperous once more.

You may be wondering who I am by this point, well I am Mel, plain ol' Mel, from Wirral, England. I love music, movies, skating and all the usual stuff us teenagers love. To go with that however I also have a love of computers and the web. I learned HTML when I was 11. Now dont go thinking I am some freak now, it was only basic stuff like linking and pictures. I started learning Java Script at 13/14 and no the odd tiny bit of programming, but only silly things like making calculators. I go to Sixth Form (Wirral Grammar Girls) and am taking English Language, Theatre Studies and Graphics. I hope to go on to Uni and then become a computer animator, hopefully working in the US. I'd tell ya more about me, but I think you just dont care so....At present no-one is helping with the site (if you feel you could, email me).

Except for you of course! It's because of you that we've become the biggest fan site on the Web of Mike. Sometimes we get mistaken for being an official site, and while that's definitely a compliment, I'm still just a girl doing it cause i'm a fan. And that won't ever change.
