This section is being included not so much for its own merit (which
is minimal), but rather for an extension of the first section, which is
short for those not inclined to play every little thing to its boredom.
For those continuing down river (down creek?) from the previous
section, you will loop right and left past some pretty houses and decks,
then past the water works (a.k.a. sewage treatment plant), and through
some shallow rapids where a dam was removed just before the town of Hamilton.
A short, shallow rapids leads a few hundred feet to the Green Bay Road
bridge for the first alternative take out.
Otherwise you will loop around to the left then right over rocky
shoals to where the creek splits into numerous channels, the leftmost being
the most passable on most occasions. Downstream you will see some
large new homes on the left before entering some pasture lands. Be on the
lookout for barbed-wire fences, which straddle the creek in two places.
These usually wash out in high water (flood), only to be replaced immediately
by the farmer who owns the property on each side of the creek. This
brings you to the confluence with the Milwaukee River, which you can paddle
down 1/4 mile to CTH.C. |
