Above the put-in the river is too small to be worthwhile, as well as going through a golf course with many LOW bridges. Downstream from the listed put-in I suspect the river is floatable during a fair part of the year. The scenery is mostly city/marsh/railroad easement, therefore nothing to really get too thrilled about. Below the indicated take out, the river slows to a 'lake' behind a 4' dam at Barstow Road.
From that dam to Wisconsin Avenue (¼ - ½ mile) there is swift water that could provide a little entertainment and exercise. Channelized banks confine the flow, and (at the right levels) some standing waves may build through here. A nicely landscaped riverwalk parallels the river for a few blocks. However, the water quality is poor and the scenery is buildings and stonework riverbanks. You have to contend with Waukesha one-way streets, urban congestion, and the downtown bus stop (assuring plenty of 'visibility' to your activity), so unless you live or work nearby it is probably not worth the bother.
