PUT-IN: | Second bridge crossing on (E.-W. portion of) CTH.E |
ALT.PUT-IN: | If a glutton for punishment (and desire 1.2 miles of gradient) you might drag in further upstream, but most of the area is posted private property. |
TAKE-OUT: | Tesch Road |
SHUTTLE: | Tesch Road (N) 1.5 mile to bend, left (W) 1.6 miles to river crossing. (Or proceed another mile (or more) on CTH.E to attempt other access.) |
DIST: | 2.5 - 4.0 miles |
TIME: | 1.0 hour |
CLASS: | I-II |
CHARACTER: | Continuous "unrelenting" class I-II. |
GAUGE: | Visual. May have some correlation with Prairie River (10 miles East). Our run had it at 234 cfs, and was a low level. |
SEASON: | Spring/rains. |
Fairly evenly distributed gradient, fairly consistant riverbed width, depth, and makeup (boulder bed) make this pleasant little river a quick paddle (when it has adequate water). There are virtually no places of special 'concern' or interest, making it a fine place for a novice whitewater cruise. |
