We have been "intrigued" by this short stretch of river for a while now, though we have not bothered to suit up and boat it. From the base of the dam the river swings right, through a couple nice waves (virtually in the back yard of a house river left), then swings left again.

As it heads toward and under the bridge, it drops through a couple of great looking holes. These would mostly be catch-on-the-fly play.

Immediately downstream is a river-wide ledge/wave. At the right levels, this looks like playtime supreme. The river then splits around a shrubby rock-rubble island, through rocky channels to be consumed by the flowage behind the next dam. (This lower dam is the one which releases into the "Lower Red," a popular beginners run.)
