1.      TOPIC: Decoration in seasons.  

2.      AGE: 3, 4 and 5 years.

3.      TIME: the complete session for each season.

4.      AIMS:

-     Objectives:

a. Learning vocabulary about objects related to the four seasons.

b. Hand-eye co-ordination.

-     Vocabulary:

a. For Winter: snow, snowman, scarf, hat, gloves, "it's cold"...

b. For Autumn: Leaf/ves, rain, umbrella, wind, boots,...

c. For Spring: flower, love, bee, tree, butterfly,...

d. For Summer: sun, sea, water, sunglasses, "it's hot"...

-     Attitudes:

a. Showing interest in participating in the activities.

b. Showing interest in learning a new language.

c. Showing respect for the rest of the pupils in the class and for the teacher.

5.      DESCRIPTION: Decorating the class and learning vocabulary at the same time.

6.      MATERIALS: Worksheets of the different objects presented, a big poster of each of the four seasons, colours and photographs of the pupils.

7.      IN CLASS:

-         The teacher will show the pupils the poster of the season and they will practice  vocabulary by repetition, asking questions or pointing in the poster.

-         After a few times when the children are a bit confidence with the vocabulary we can start by painting the worksheets individually.

-         We will photocopy a few copies for each item of vocabulary.

-         Pupils will colour the worksheet and we will stick it in the walls then we can play look for a (leave, a bee...).

-         After that the pupils will get a copy of a little object, for example: a bee in Spring, a glove in Winter, a leaf in Autumn or a pair of sunglasses in Summer. They will have to colour it a bit, cut it and stick their photo in the middle, then we will put the objects in the wall with the other decoration.

8.      COMMENTS: We will have to choose the number of objects we teach according to the age of the children.

9.      VARIATIONS: When we work vocabulary, we can put all the objects together in the rug and ask a pupil to show to the rest of the class an object or we can stick the teachers cards of the objects in the classroom and ask the pupils to get specific one.

10. EVALUATION CRITERIA: We will evaluate through the materials presented in class. We will expect to identify and name the objects of the vocabulary presented.
