1.   TOPIC: Going in or out of class            

2.      AGE: 3, 4 and 5 years.

3.      TIME:  20 minutes (for the activity) and 5 minutes (for everytime  they go in or out their class).

4.      AIMS:

-   Objectives:

a. To understand simple messages in a foreign language.

b. Simple words in English.

c. Revising the numbers in English.

-   Vocabulary:

a. One, two, three (3 years).

b. One, two, three, four (4 years).

c. One, two, three, four, five (5 years).

d. For variation: good morning / afternoon and Can I go to the toilet, please?

-   Attitudes:

a. Showing respect for the rules of the class.

b. Showing interest on learning a new language.

5.  DESCTIPTION: counting footprints to go out or go in class.

6.  MATERIALS: footprints with numbers, Blu-tack or stick tape.

7.  IN CLASS:

-         We will show the footprints to the children saying to them that are from a monster

-         We will revise the numbers with the footprints asking the pupils to repeat or asking them for the number.

-         After revising the numbers we will stick the footprints in the middle of the class.

-         We will say them that we are starting in a cave, explaining to them that to scape from the monster we have to jump on the footprints while we count till we get to our house that is a drawing in a blackboard.

-         After practising this activity we will put the footprints next to the door for three years we will put six footprints, three to go out and three to go in. For four years we will need eight and for five we will need ten footprints.

-         Children will jump and count on the footprints everytime they go out or enter in class.

8.   COMMENTS:  We can only use this activity when children already know the numbers.

9.   VARIATION: We can use a password instead of the footprints, for example to come in  "Good morning/afternoon" for going out "Can I go to the toilet, please?" or "Goodbye".

10.  EVALUATION CRITERIA: We will evaluate through the materials presented in class.  We will expect them to identify and name the objects of the vocabulary presented and to count the numbers taught in class.

1.      TOPIC: Putting on or getting off our coat.      

2.      AGE: 3, 4 and 5 years.

3.      TIME: 20 minutes (for the activity) and 5 minutes (everyday in class).

4.      AIMS:

 -    Objectives:

a. Being able to follow instructions.

b. Understand simple and short instructions.

c. Understand the vocabulary.

 -    Vocabulary: imperatives, hat, coat, gloves and scarf.

 -    Attitudes:

a. Showing interest participating in the activity.

b. Showing a co-operative actitud between the pupils and the teacher.

c. Showing interest in communicating in a foreign language.

5.      DESCRIPTION: following instructions.

6.      MATERIALS: A big poster of a room, flashcards of clothes (hat, coat, scarf and gloves) a place to put the clothes.

7.      IN CLASS:

-         The teacher will show a big poster of a messy room with the flashcards of the clothes on the floor of the room.

-         We will practice the vocabulary showing the flashcards and repeating the names.

-         After that the teacher will explain that the clothes do not have to be in the floor

-         The pupils will come to the blackboard and put them in the place that correspond.

-         The teacher will say to them to put on their hat, coat, scarf and gloves and then to get them off. This can be practice everyday in class if we have our class after or before a break.

-         We will repeat the game when we talk about the weather or when we talk about the seasons so the children put on the proper cloth depending on the season or weather.

8.      COMMENTS: This can be done with Simon says but with the beginners is better to use please and instead of Simon says use the name of the puppet of the class.

9.      VARIATIONS: We can also use the game to practice some other classroom routines, for example with "sit down", "stand up", "listen", "look"... We can also do this activity everytime we change the weather we can say "go and find a raincoat" (for spring). We can do it in groups like a competition.

10. EVALUATION CRITERIA: We will evaluate through the materials presented in class. We will expect them to do the actions introduced and to identify and name the vocabulary presented.  

1.      TOPIC: Greetings.        

 2.      AGE: 3, 4 and 5 years.

 3.      TIME: 20 minutes.

 4.      AIMS:

 -    Objectives:

a. Revising greetings.

b. Being able to ask and respond simple questions.

c. Identifying and naming some popular characters.

 -     Vocabulary: Hello, goodbye, What is your name? and My name is...

 -     Attitudes:

a. Showing interest on participation in the activity and in communicating in English.

b. Showing respect for the other pupils.

 5.      DESCRIPTION: The objective of the game is to meet different characters.

 6.      MATERIALS: Cards with pictures of characters well known for the pupils

 7.      IN CLASS:

-         All the pupils have to be sat in a circle in chairs or in the floor.

-         The first thing we will have to do is put the cards in a box.

-         The second thing will be calling out two names of the characters and the pupils that have that characters change seats saying, for example: Hello! My name is... or What is your name?

-         We will continue doing that until all the pupils have had a chance to change places at least once.

-         After a few rounds more, we will say hurricane! And everyone will change places. Now we can start again.

 8.   COMMENTS: We will have to make sure that there is enough time for every child to change places.

 9.   VARIATIONS: We can use this game with any vocabulary.

 10.  EVALUATION CRITERIA: We will evaluate through the materials presented in class.
