From Swing to Hard Bop with a little bit of the Mississippi Delta thrown in, Mike DiBari embraces the many sounds of classic jazz and blues guitar. When one hears Mike play the blues, you just can't help getting that low down feeling. His original compositions on his latest CD venture out into the world of hard bop, while his jazz standards swing like crazy. Worcester Magazine's Noah Schaffer said, "DiBari always hits the mark regardless of whether he's shooting from the hip on hard blues, plucking out delicate lines on a ballad, or keeping the groove on an upbeat jump tune." "I wish there wasn't such a line drawn between jazz and blues, because there is so much common ground," says DiBari. His trio is captivating, featuring a delicate interplay between guitar, bass and drums. They refined their elegant sound every Friday night at Boston's prestigious Marriott Long Wharf Hotel... a residency they've held for over three years. The Swingtet is thrilling with their mini Big Band and Jump Blues arrangements. The band has become a favorite with dancers all over New England. Throughout, one thing is constant; Mike DiBari sure can swing! His friend and local blues shouter, Sweet Willie D, has bestowed upon him the title of 'Swingmaster', which he continues to live up to on every gig he plays... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
