Cloudy and Hopeful
The weather she hits me like a lost child of God
A secret weapon against this unknowing clod
The rain piles on while I’m still miles gone
Like something I’ve known
And the world is so gray like it’s Judgment Day
But I’m keeping my own.
The clouds drape the world from an evil sun
That star that’s a light looking down everyone
But the night feels so cold
Like the death done so bold
A hero never known
But you know I’m OK, it’s just day to day
So don’t feel so alone.
But right now check my pulse for something new, never felt so alive.
The windows my life where I see all the world
The doors open I see these are real boy and girls
But the rain it pours like never before
Now for something so unknown
And the sky it cries like it’s living a lie
Just to go die so alone.
