Thoughtful and Hopeless
Holding close the apple of perfection
Missing far the demeanor of the girl
Wording hollow for in love’s request
Forgetting more my world.
Distrusting trust that led me
Cherish lies that make me bold
Finding hope for what deters me
Disregarding all I’m told.
Am I really all that blameless?
It’s not the first time to play the game
But my dreams grow insufficient
I’ll make life less of the same.
Your calmness what disturbs me
You think you own my heart
But I’ll let you in a little secret
You’ve already played up your part.
