Life's Little Trials

Sometimes in my own state of mind,
I find the path of last resistance somewhere.
But who knows what goes to show,
Is how that’s not the path that makes me care.

So take me out of here, and keep me alive,
So I can look back at myself for I told you so.
When the dust settles and we’re right here again,
We’ll act like we didn’t know.

It’s just a shortcut to make life a little easy,
But life’s never easy if you’re living it right.
So take the extra mile, don’t mind the nasty cuts,
If you never lived in darkness then you don’t know what’s light.
