Location

Casa Rosa is situated in Central Italy, on the same latitude as Florence.

It is located near Fossombrone, in a spectacular position 1,000 ft up in the foothills of the Appenine mountains, yet is only a thirty minute drive from the Adriatic coastal town of Fano with its excellent beaches and busy fishing port.

Ryanair operates daily flights to Ancona (one hour to Casa Rosa by car) and Bologna Forli (90 minutes by car). BA and Easyjet operate daily flights to Bologna City (about 2 hours by car).

This region of Italy (Le Marche) is truly beautiful. It's scenery is possibly the best in Central Italy, certainly rivalling its neighbours Tuscany and Umbria. Unlike them, however, Le Marche remains largely undiscovered and unspoilt.

There are many ancient towns nearby, typically perched on hill-tops. Urbino (Raphael's home town) is 30 minutes away. Assisi and Florence are around 1½ - 2 hours away. Gola del Furlo is renowned and in the truffle area, Fano has wonderful beaches and the Frasassi caves are not to be missed.
