Chapter 6
For the rest of the party I danced with Nick while he and Josh kept shooting looks at one another; Nick’s looks were inquiring while Josh just looked like he wanted to make Nick swallow the two plastic 2 candles that made up my age on top of the cake. I kept meaning to ask, but Nick kept sidetracking me with promises of sex.
Finally, the last guest left, and Nick stood at the door waiting for me to get my bags and head towards the car. As I was grabbing my toothbrush, I heard Nick say, “Are you sure? This will be the only time I offer.”
I heard Josh snort in response. “Trust me,” he retorted icily, “I don’t need anything handed to me by the likes of you.”
I barged in. “Ok, what the hell is going on? You two have had these cryptic looks and remarks going on all night. Would one of you like to enlighten me?”
Josh walked up to me. “Don’t worry about it Justin. Nick was just trying to be funny by inviting me to the cabin with you two.”
I looked at Nick confused. I walked up to him and whispered, “Umm, not that I don’t appreciate the gesture and everything, but what the hell are you inviting Josh for? Don’t you remember what we’re suppose to be doing this weekend?”
“Justin, I can still hear you. You’re only four feet away, dumbass.” scoffed Josh. “But anyway, that’s part of the joke.”
I felt stupid, because I still wasn’t getting it. I felt like the answer was dangling in front of me, barely out of reach, taunting me. It was an infuriating feeling.
“Umm, well, I’m about to go now. So, Josh, hug?” I asked, holding my arms out. Josh engulfed me in a huge hug, holding me tightly.
“Remember, you promised me. So be careful.” I nodded my head at the statement and headed out to the car.

The entire ride there I was a bundle of nervous energy. I mean, here was this gorgeous man beside me, taking me to some secluded, romantic cabin so that we could have sex! I felt like bursting into song, but that would be way too weird, even for me. So I sat there, strumming with excitement for the entire two hour ride.
When we got there, I barely knew what to do with myself. We walked in and were barely in the door before Nick pressed himself against me back and started kissing my neck. All of sudden, I got this feeling. I can’t describe it, only that all the anticipation I had about being with Nick turned into something else, and all I could think of was to stall.
“So, you want to play a game of Monopoly or something?” I asked nervously. “I brought it with me. Whenever Josh and I go on trips we always bring…”
Nick shut me up by turning me around and kissing me on the lips passionately. “I don’t want to hear about Josh. And no, I don’t want to play Monopoly. What I want is to get you out of these clothes as soon as possible.”
With that, Nick began kissing me again, his hands busy unbuttoning my shirt. I tilted me head back and he nipped his was down my throat, my previous reservations completely gone as passion overtook me. Gently, he started walking me backwards towards the bedroom, shedding clothes the entire way.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?” he murmured as he unbuckled my pants and pushed them off my hips along with my boxers. I wiggled out the offending garments, standing there gloriously naked and willing. Nick pushed me back against the bed and covered me with his body, his hands roaming possessively.
He kissed me again and then whispered, “I’m going to enjoy this…enjoy you.” At this point I was so horny that I wished that he’d just shut up and get the hell on with it. One he was inside me, he could talk all he wanted. I was just about to tell him that when I heard a crash in the corner of the room. I jumped up, startled, and then was even more startled by who I saw there. There was an attractive woman, no more than 23, staring at us with her hands on her hips. She looked very much like a well-mannered socialite, well, if it weren’t for the look of pure fury and disgust on her face and the fact that she was very pregnant, about seven or eight months from the look of her.
“I should’ve known you’d be here with one of your whores,” she spat. I squawked in indignation at being called a whore. Nick looked up and rolled his eyes.
“Who the hell are you?” I squeaked out, trying in vain to cover up my naked body. She looked at me with furious, narrowed eyes.
“Who am I? I think that I should be asking you that!” she yelled at me, her hands balled up into tiny fists at her side.
“I’m Justin Timberlake, Nick’s boyfriend! And you?”
She gave me a look that let me know that I was going to regret asking that question. “Well, Justin Timberlake, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Jennifer Carter, Nick’s wife.”
I opened my mouth, but no sound would come out. I closed it and then tried again. “His wife?” I asked, disbelieving. I turned to Nick. “Your wife?”
Nick looked at Jennifer with a look of bored condescension. “What do you want, Jen?”
“What do I want? I would like you to bring your ass home! As you can see, I am having your baby! I am sick of this, Nick, just plain sick of this. I want a divorce.”
At the word divorce, Nick jumped up. “Hold on, baby, just a minute. You’re going off the deep end now.” He walked up to Jennifer and started rubbing her arms. “Baby, you know how things are. I love you, and I love our baby. You know these little flings mean nothing to me.”
“Little flings!” I yelled. I couldn’t believe it. This bastard had been telling me how he was falling in love with me and all this other shit, and now this. I felt tears pricking the back of my eyes, but I refused to give the bastard the satisfaction. I started to gather up my clothes and put them on. Nick was in the corner whispering to Jamie, but I was too busy retrieving my clothing to care about what was being said. As I was putting on my shoes, I heard Nick say, “Go home, Jennifer. I’ll be back soon and we can talk about this, ok?” Jennifer emerged from the bedroom, her eyes red from crying and she left the cabin without a backward glance. Nick walked into the living room, still naked and he looked surprised that I was still dressed. “Hey,” he said, leaning against the doorway, “Where are you going? We still have things to finish up.”
I gaped at him. What the hell? Was he some from weird alternate reality where his pregnant wife did not just come and interrupt us? “I want to go home.” I announced.
Nick narrowed his eyes. “If this is about Jennifer…”
“Of course it’s about Jennifer! You’re married! If you want to commit adultery, fine, but I will not be your willing accomplice.” I walked up to him and crossed my arms menacingly. “But I’m sure you’ll be able to find someone else for another of your meaningless little flings.”
“You’re upset about that? Justin, I had to tell her that. You know how I feel about you baby. It’s just that’s Jennifer’s from a very well connected family with a lot of money, and well, our marriage is nothing more than a business arrangement. It’s you I love.”
I couldn’t believe his nerve. Did he think that I was some stupid heroine in a damn Lifetime movie? Did I look like fucking Jaclyn Smith or Cheryl Ladd? As coldly as I could muster, I said, “Take me home now, or either tell me exactly where I’m at so I can get Josh to come get me. But one way or another, I’m going home tonight.”
Nick threw up his hands. “Oh, yes, your precious Josh. He’ll come to the rescue won’t he?”
“Leave Josh out of this.”
Nick smirked. “Actually, Josh was almost very much in this tonight. Did you know that I asked him to join us for a little threesome?”
My mouth fell open. “What? Why?”
“Well, like I said when I first met you, Justin, he’s a beautiful man. And I’ve always wanted him. Don’t get me wrong, you’re a cute kid, but he possesses a certain something that you’ll never have. And I felt that the best way to get him was to first have you.” His smirk got colder. “It wasn’t too much of an inconvenience to lower my standards for you. Even if you probably would’ve been an uninspiring fuck.”
I felt my blood freeze in my veins and I couldn’t breathe. God, this had to be the worst fucking birthday ever. “Just…take me home. Or let Josh. Or whatever.” I choked. “I just know that I never want to see you again.”
Angrily, he grabbed his clothes and put them on, and then he threw my duffle bag at me. “Fine then, let’s go.”

I tried to be quiet and not disturb Josh on my way back in the house, but unfortunately he was still up, eating Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies and watching Red Sonja. He took one look at my red rimmed eyes and ran to me.
“Justin, are you all right?” he asked, hugging me tightly. At that, all the tears that I had been suppressing since Jennifer walked in rushed out. I fell against Josh sobbing, and somehow he guided me to the couch. I buried my face in the crook of his neck and he ran his fingers through my curls and rocked me until I calmed down enough to talk. “Justin, sweetie, what happened?”
“It was horrible!” I cried. “We were about to and then…his wife…and she’s pregnant…and then he said I was just a fling.” I got out past my heaving sobs.
Josh clutched me tighter. “Poor baby. You can do better anyway.”
I sighed, trying to calm myself down. “He…told me about what he asked you today, Josh.”
I felt Josh stiffen. “Did he?”
I nodded. “He told me that he wanted you and that I was just a means to that. That I was a cute kid,” I spat that word out, “but that I didn’t have that special whatever and that he was lowering his standards with me and that I’d probably be, and I quote ‘an uninspiring fuck’.”
Josh hauled me up by my forearms to look at him. “Listen to me, Justin. Fuck him. He has no idea what you’re talking about. He was just trying to hurt you but spouting complete garbage. You’re gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. People would kill to be with you. Some people light up rooms when they enter them, but you, Justin, you light up the entire building.” He clasped my face between his hands. “And as for being an uninspiring fuck, well, I doubt that. You’re enthusiastic and imaginative and I’m sure that that spills over to your bedroom behavior also. Plus I’ve seen those hips move. Add that to the fact that I have known everyone you’ve ever slept with and they’ve never thought that you were anything short of wonderful. He’s the one that’s missing out, Justin, not you.”
I smiled. “You really think all that about me?” I asked.
Josh rolled his eyes. “Why do I have the feeling that I’m going to regret having said all this tomorrow?”
I snuggled up to Josh. “Probably because I’ll never let you forget it.” Then I sobered up and glanced up at him. “Really, though, thanks Josh. You mean so much to me and I’m so lucky to have you in my corner.” I turned back to the TV. “You know that this means that I’m going to need lots of comforting tomorrow right?”
Josh chuckled. “Garlic chicken pizza and the Godfather trilogy?”
“I’m thinking more like the Highlander movies. Yep, I think that hot, immortal men with big swords is exactly what I need right now.”
I could feel Josh shake his head. “Justin, what would you do without me?”
I pushed my face deeper into his neck and radiated in his warmth. “I don’t know, Josh. I hope I never have to find out.”
