Mr J Shooter (Director of Music)
John Shooter read music at Cambridge
University, where he was an Organ
Scholar, and then as a postgraduate
at Manchester University and The
Royal College of Organists. He has
worked as Director of Music in three
independent schools and spent eight
enjoyable years as a Housemaster
Some highlights of his career
include performing as a piano
soloist at the Royal Festival Hall,
performing at the BBC Proms, and
being Musical Director for two West
End shows. In 2003, he conducted the
choirs and worked with Will Young
and Hayley Westernra at the 2003
Royal British Legion Festival of
Remembrance, broadcast live from the
Royal Albert Hall, London in the
presence of Her Majesty, The Queen
and to an estimated word wide
audience of 26 million!
In 1994 he was elected a Fellow of
the Royal Society of Arts.
Outside of music, John is a keen
sailor who has crossed the Atlantic
twice and has sailed (almost!)
around the world |
