This was my first tractor, and it served me well for many years. But finally
I discovered that my other tractors were doing the same jobs, and the Economy
was just sitting, so I sold it. I did make a few modifications, including
adding the large muffler and guard, a backup light, ammeter, and reflectors.
The rear tires are originals from 1972, but the fronts were replaced with
wheelbarrow tires after the originals wore out.
Since I mow about 5 acres of grass each weekend during the summer, you can imagine that a 48" mower and the slow speed of the Economy made for very long days. This was taken just to the North of my wetlands. You can see the wheels on the back of the mower - these were added after the original full-width rollers wore out.
Here is the Economy packed up and ready to leave for it's new home in Massachusetts.
Later in the year, I bought this same trailer, so it now sits behind the
barn, ready to fetch more antique tractors.
